James Marsh

IT Process Advisor & Founder

James Marsh is an IT process advisor and founder of Marsh Technical Group, LLC. He specializes in helping IT leaders diagnose process breakdowns, identify high-impact gaps, and prioritize what to fix first. His work focuses on practical, execution-ready recommendations rather than over-engineered consulting or tool-centric solutions.

James brings more than 25 years of progressive experience across IT Asset Management, process improvement, governance, ServiceNow-related practices, business analysis, asset and configuration management, and enterprise IT operations. He has led IT asset and configuration management programs across global organizations, governed complex environments, and driven continuous process improvements that reduce operational risk and improve data integrity.

Over his career, James has overhauled and instituted comprehensive IT Asset Management solutions across global corporations, streamlining asset management processes and reducing operational complexity across sites in more than 140 countries. He has spearheaded process improvement initiatives using best-practice methodologies to identify inefficiencies, streamline workflows, and reduce operational cost — enhancing overall productivity and performance.

As a business analyst and ITAM leader, James has collaborated with stakeholders across departments to align on ITAM strategies and processes, translated business requirements into technical specifications, and integrated ITAM with CMDB, ITSM, and procurement to improve asset visibility and control.

This deep experience in IT asset and configuration management now serves as the foundation for MTG's IT process diagnostic services. Rather than focusing on tools alone, James helps organizations understand how processes are executed, where they break down, and how to improve them in a practical, prioritized way.
